I've been using this humidifier for about five years. The two-tank design makes refilling easier. Initially, you need a hygrometer so you know where to set the humidity dial. Once I got that set to 40% I just put a pencil mark at the right setting. It worked fine in my old 1600 sq ft house. My new house is 2900 sq ft and it struggles to keep the house humid during cold weather. All evaporative models make noise. That's just the nature of the fan. This one is no different. I'd buy it again.
