How do you install the 3M Aqua-Pure AP917HD-S?
- Close shut-off valves before and after filter head (upstream and downstream valves 2 and 3).
- Slide cartridge locking latch to the right and lift up.
- With both hands, twist out 3M Aqua-Pure AP917HD-S filter cartridge by turning unit 90° to the left and down.
- Install new replacement 3M Aqua-Pure AP917HD-S cartridge into head by pushing cartridge up and turning to the right until locking latch clicks into place.
- Open faucet downstream of filter.
- Open valves 2 and 3. Let water flush for 15 minutes, check for leaks.

Collected by Trustpilot.comThe 3M Aqua-Pure AP917HD-S is a very effective unit and recommended for chemical & sediment control. This filter markedly improved water quality over the last several years & not only taste & clarity. It has cleared up the water heater content (formerly milky white) to crystal, enhancing service time of the unit. Also the piping throughout the home is less likely to get clogged up as well as spigots, valves and toilet equipment. Previously flush valves became inoperable after about a year, but the current unit has been trouble free for 4 years. One caveat: filter cartridge should replaced annually, since it filters out chlorine and could lead to bacteria build-up over longer periods.
